Nightlife in Sanur
Simply put Sanur is for families, honeymooners, couples and people who want one thing from their holiday in Bali; peace and quiet. They want to de-stress, relax sit by the pool and basically do nothing. Sanur has a reputation for being boring, but that’s the way most people like it.
Sanur nightlife can be thought of as the exact opposite of the neighbouring areas of the trendy Seminyak or the alcohol fueled Kuta. Sanur tourists expect a laid back, family style night time scene and this is exactly what you will get in Sanur. Some venues even close well before midnight.
Having said that, there are still some places in Sanur where you can go out grab a meal, have some international beers, drink some exotic cocktails and let your hair down. Most venues are either in the hotel restaurants that are on the beach or on the main street ( withing easy walking distance from the main hotels) where you can sit down for a delicious Indonesian dinner, listen to some live local music or DJ”s playing, then it’s back to the hotel for an early night. Boring for some, but for the majority of Sanur residents and tourist alike this is nirvana. It’s sort of like a quiet upmarket suburb at home where the residents are happy to keep maintain a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
There is however one exception here in Snaur that breaks the daily monotony of tranquility and that is the Adore Super nightclub.
Located in the Harrads hotel complex, this ‘super club’ stands out like a sore thumb as it’s the first club you see on the Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai. heading towards Sanur. It is about 1.5 km from the main Sanur hub and residents like it this way. It stays open after midnight as it is outside the rules governing Sanur’s strict nightime closure due to it’s distance from the beach. This makes it very attractive for locals and younger tourists ( probably wanting to escape the family holiday for the night) to listen to live DJ’s and party hard till the early hours of the morning. There are also private karaoke rooms where you can thrash out a few tunes with your mates.
